A pretty stunning looking tabletop radio, especially for a transistor radio. I'm calling this circa '63/'64, but it may have begun production earlier than that and remained in production longer than that. This example came from a seller in Canada, and the two other examples I've come across on the Web also are from Canada. This set was distributed in Canada by RCA Victor Company, LTD., and produced in Japan by Sanyo.

Kevin Harmon-Smith alerted me to a photo of this set as a Sanyo model 6S-09 -- see the photo below.

One interesting thing done on this set is how the tuning dial is connected to the tuning wheel. There's no dial cord here, but instead three cogwheels, as shown below in a photo found on the Radiomuseum web site. Nifty!
