c.1961/62 Ross Triumph TPR-561

Shirt pocket radio, thermoplastic cabinet
4 x 2 1/2 x 1 1/8 inches / 102 x 64 x 29 mm
Six transistors, one diode, one standard 9-volt battery
Distributed by Ross Electronics Corp.; Chicago, IL
Made in Japan (Takt Denki Co. Ltd?)

Another very handsome Sony TR-610 copycat radio, along with several 1959 Realtone radios, the c.1961 Fidelity that appears to share the same chassis and nearly the same cabinet as this Ross Triumph, and the c.1962 Lafayette FS-206 / Honeytone G-606.

Most examples on the internet of a Ross Triumph TPR-561 have a speaker grille with a crenellated rim, rather than a smooth round rim. A RadioMuseum page shows this exact Ross radio with the smooth round rim and gives a manufacture date of "1962 ??" and Takt Denki Co. Ltd. as a probable manufacturer.
