A really fine short wave shirt pocket radio -- in fact, it's Deluxe! -- see the "back face" photo below. A beautiful tuning dial area, though for some reason there's only a dial pointer on the MW side, so when you're tuning the SW "band" (six bands!) you have to look across to the MW side to find the dial pointer. Looking at the pointer from inside, it really does look like that's all there ever was. Photos of other examples on Radiomuseum, Radio Attic, and Michael Jack's flickr pages shows the same. What the heck?
This unit is missing its telescopic antenna, but it does still have its rhinestone jewel in the Sanyo badge on the speaker grille. And unfortunately, in the top photo you can see my fingers reflected in the gold area dividing the tuning band scales -- without the fingers, it's just gold.
The 1960 date here is established by a January 25, 1960 ad in Spanish LIFE Magazine, found on Jose Gustavo Sanchez Gonzalez's filckr page.
