c.1960 Standard SR-F300A "Piccolo"

Small shirt pocket radio, thermoplastic cabinet
2 1/8 x 3 7/16 x 1 inches / 54 x 87 x 25.4 mm
Six transistors (Matsushita), two UM-5 1.5v cells
Manufactured by Standard Radio Co., Ltd., Japan

A sweet little "mini" shirt pocket radio with a gold-colored tuning plate and speaker grille. It has a tiny little speaker and tiny little batteries. The black "STANDARD" and red "Piccolo" names are stamped into the metal tuning plate.

The date here is uncertain -- one of the only internet sources giving a date (1960) points back to an entry in Norm Smith's, book, Transistor Radios -- 1954-1968 that gives no indication of how he got that date. Maybe 1960 is exactly correct, I wouldn't know.
