A really nice shirt pocket radio with a slide rule dial. I'm a big fan of slide rule dials on transistor radios -- they're so reminiscent of tuning dials from an earlier era of tube portable and table top radios.
As of today (December 2024), there is absolutely nothing on the Web anywhere about this radio -- no info, no photos, nothing. And it really would help a bit if Yaou could have put model numbers on their radios, rather than leaving them to be found on display boxes and owner's manuals. Well, at least this radio has a solid manufacture date -- see photo below.
The speaker grille on this Yaou is a gold-colored metal rectangle divided into quarters -- the bottom left quarter once had a round name badge that's now missing. The front half of the cabinet is ivory in color, the back half a burnt orange. The cabinet tapers very slightly from top to bottom: 2 7/16 at the top, 2 3/8 at the bottom. The volume and tuning knobs are a bright red. And you've got your dual earphone jacks there on one side of the cabinet. As with a number of other Yaou radios I've come across, this one has a final inspection date: "28 MAR 1961".
