Coat pocket radio, nylon cabinet
5 3/4 x 3 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches / 146 x 89 x 38 mm
Seven transistors, four 1.5-volt AA cells
Manufactured by Zenith Radio Corp.; Chicago, Illinois

A very nice looking Zenith coat pocket radio from 1957/1958: This is a later version of the Royal 300 -- as noted on Gary's Radios Royal 300 page, the earliest 300s had the words, "Seven Transistors" printed across the top of the faceplate and, "Tubeless Seven Transistors" on the back cabinet face. This version has "All Transistor" printed across the top of the faceplate and, "Tubeless All Transistor" on the back cabinet face -- though here that wasn't used to avoid showing a low transistor count, as was so commonly found on other "All Transistor" radios of its time -- this later version retains all seven of its transistors.

The Royal 300 had the sole distinction among Zenith coat pocket radios of having a pair of "bumps" on its back face, along with a raised area directly below the battery cover, all in service of protecting the back face from scrapes and scratches when laid on a surface.
