I really love the c.1957 Admiral 7M12 for its classic '50s-looking cabinet design, but this 802's update is much more bold and "modern" looking, yet it still looks firmly grounded in the 1950s: The 7M12's white front cabinet half becomes bright red (or several other colors) on the 802, the embossed silver-colored "ADMIRAL" name is replaced by black embossed, the small script black "7 transistors" is now a larger red "8 transistors", the white numbering on the tuning dial has changed to a larger black bold numbering, and the gold area with decorative indents surrounding the dial center has been replaced by a simple black area. I think both radios are classic 1950s American transistor radio design.
