Very similar cabinet to the much more handsome 1956 Magnavox AM-2, Magnavox's first transistor radio -- and while the AM-2 was hand-wired with five transistors, the AM-5 had six transistors on a printed circuit board. A later version of the AM-2 appears to share exactly the same cabinet face as this AM-5.
